Overview

Mondello is a beautiful sea-side resort town in the region of Sicily with spectacular white-sand, Carribean style beaches and it makes a great base for those visiting Sicily to explore the area. It is in fact a small borough of Palermo, which is Sicily's regional capital and the largest city in Sicily.

Originally, Mondello was a a small fishing village situated on marshland, however but at the end 19th century it grew into a favorite tourist destination because of the beautiful beaches between that run the stretch between the two cliffs called Mount Gallo and Mount Pellegrino. You can see in the pictures the beautiful cove around which Mondello the town was constructed.

Today, there are numerous Liberty style villas on the seafront promenade that made Mondello one of the gems of Art Nouveau in Europe.

A must see place, especially for those who love swimming and diving!
