Overview

Ustica is a beautiful island in the Mediterranean sea, located about 55 KM west of Palermo, Sicily's capital city and it is reachable by ferry or Helicopter from Palermo. It is an island that is home to a very small population of about 1350 citizens who remain there most year, though it is hot spot for visitors during the summer months and for foodies and under-sea divers all year long.

The scuba diviing and coastline around Ustica are truly beautiful and while there are restaurants located over the island, the majority of businesses remain at the port from which you can rent boats, hire vespas and enjoy a variety of local cuisine.

This island has been featured in numerous Italian and international films. For nature lovers and those in search of a more off-the-beaten-path vacation, this is a great place to rinse your head out, enjoy long uninterrupted walks and not be interrupted by tourism at all, particularly in the off-season.
